Announcing ThingsThatAreSmart.wiki

That’s one of the issues I’m trying to take care of with this. The device types I’ve come across aren’t from a thread that was started by the author.

In the case of the CT100 type, it was a reply to a request in this thread and the title doesn’t give a clue that this works with the CT100. It’s the second post in the thread so it’s the closest I’ve seen.

I found a device type for another one that was a response to a discussion but it was buried way down in a thread.

Another type I’ve found was in response to a few different threads so it’s mentioned in several places.

While it’s nice that people create code and post them all over the place, it makes it really hard to find that type that seems to do what you are looking for.

I guess in these cases, there could be a link to where the type was found, but it may be a thread that the author isn’t watching.

What would also help would be if there was some tips for publishing code. ie: descriptive comments in the code, a link on the wiki, a separate thread announcing the type, etc.
