At the time of this posting, Tapo mini plugs are Matter over Wi-Fi. Not Matter over thread.

Although I try not to use too many Wi-Fi devices, I really like these as an inexpensive local proxy between SmartThings and other Matter-compatible platforms. These have let me drop several Alexa routines we were using as intermediaries.

Leviton will have most of their Leviton Smart lineup on sale for 20-25% off. I like their wall switches and dimmers since they look like ānormalā paddle switches.
Tapo also has a lot of their cameras on sale already. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite camera brands since most models work with Alexa and SmartThings, have ONVIF support for the Home Assistant nerds, and have micro SD cards for recording with out a subscription.

July 15 only, Best Buy has a great price on a 4 pack of the Cync by GE Direct Connect matter over WiFi RGB bulbs. 800 lm. $30 for the 4 pack. These should work out of the box with SmartThings, no custom code required, but you do have to have a SmartThings/Aeotec hub since thatās the only way matter works with SmartThings.

My Tapo C225 does work with Smartthingsā¦ I can view the stream and thatās all. No camera control, on/off, motion detection, routines, recording, ā¦ Nothing.

yeah, guess I should preface what āworks with SmartThingsā means in the context of video cameras. Every camera iāve used with ST only works for live stream and motion events. It is odd the C225 doesnāt support motion events. My Tapo C120 and TC85 expose motion events to ST that can be used for Routines.

The motion detection didnāt work in ST last time I checked. Gonna give it another try when Iām home.
I just checked my C225. It doesnāt work still. Very strange that model doesnāt and their others do.

The Aeotec Cam 360 has everything and more in ST. It feels like the reference implementation.
Hard to beat $20 for a 3-pack. I have these and they work well, and Iām tempted to get some just to tuck away for future use. Most of my plugs are primarily used as ZWave repeaters.
