Aeotec Heavy Duty Switch Gen 5

Hi, I am trying to get my SmartThings Hub to recognise the Aeotec Heavy Duty Switch. The Hub is recognising other things OK however when I try to Pair the Switch the pairing light on the switch flashes rapidly for a minute or so then goes back to slow flashing.

Ant ideas anyone?

Exclude it first, then readd it.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

I am a novice at this so please excuse my ignorance. I am trying to do this from an iPad. I have looked at the link you sent me and 1st , I don’t have the House logo on my screen, just a dashboard. When I go to Add a device, I finds nothing. If I go to Add something Manually, I don’t know what Category to put it in.
The SmartThings Hub, has picked up my TV, A motion Sensor and my Bose Speaker, and these are all working fine.
When I go to Add a device the Green lights on the Hub all flash.
As far as I can tell, There is nothing there for me to exclude.
When trying to pair, I have lights flashing on the Switch and also on the Hub, But nothing else is happening.
I hope this makes sense.
Mike

The link posted above is for z-wave exclusion from the SmartThings Classic app. It appears you are using the SmartThings (Samsung Connect) app. To perform z-wave exclusion in the STSC app, go to th Devices section, click on your hub, then click on the 3 dots in the upper right of the screen and choose z-wave exclusion. Once you have excluded the device, try to add it.

Thanks JKP and sidjohn1,
Thank you for all your help and guidance, I an pleased to say that after a few attempts I now have the switch working.
You were both a great help and pointed me in the right direction. So easy when you know how.

Thanks again.
