Help! My nine-year has an invention for his science project and I’m out of my league. He plugs in his electronics downstairs but would like some type of notification in his bedroom upstairs that they are plugged in charging at night. (We don’t let him have electronics in his bedroom). Is there some type of gizmo or smart home technology we can leverage to achieve something like this? Something that can plug into an outlet that sends a signal (like a light?!) somewhere else? Any ideas?
Smartthings may be overkill for what you are looking for, you can prob get away with 2 wemo insight switches, a night light and IFTTT.
