4 Channel Dry Sensor Inputs

Can someone suggest a multiple input(dry sensors/contacts) compatible with Smartthings.

I know I can hard wire to an individual zigbee window/door sensor but looking for a packaged solution.

Even a ESP8266 solution but can’t figure out the edge driver.

We’ll need to know what country you are in, and if you have a Smartthings/Aeotec hub, and if so, which one .

  1. If you are in North America, and do have a smartthings/Aeotec hub, then I think the easiest is going to be the Zooz option, but it only has three channels. Or they have a two channel model. But in either case, you would end up needing two of their devices.

The good news is that they have excellent technical support, and the manufacturer does provide the custom edge driver that you would need and I just think it will be the easiest installation experience.

  1. if you happen to be in Europe, frient has a zigbee module with four dry contacts, and one of the community Developers has created an edge Driver for it that exposes all 4. But it’s not rated for US wiring. And again you need a smartthings/Aeotec hub.

  2. if you don’t have a smartthings/Aeotec hub, Shelly has a couple of WiFi models that you may be able to use through the official integration, but again, there’s a maximum of two dry contacts per device, so you would need two of them

So there are some possibilities, but again, we need a few more details.

You can find information about all three of the ones I mentioned above plus some more single channel candidates in the following community FAQ:

Yes, North America and Smartthings V2 Hub.

I looked at the Zooz and considering the configuration needed it was a bit more expensive. I also looked at the Konnected solution and it also was more expensive than I hoped to pay.

I noticed that a ESPHome solution may be possible in the future.

Anyway to get a ESP32 or ESP8266 solution?

There’s this, but it’s only for ones that have been flashed to Tasmota firmware:

[ST Edge] •• Tasmota Edge •• for Sonoff, Tuya & many other ESP WiFi & HTTP devices - over 2000 Tasmota supported devices

I’ll look at that solution. Looks promising.

Thanks for the suggestion
