I have a 3 way switch with which I would like to use a dimmer. If I use a GE/Jasco z-wave dimmer switch as the main switch, can I use one of the basic 3 way on/off, no dimming, GE/Jasco add on switches as the relay switch? I understand I would lose the dimming at the relay switch. Or is there a special add on dimmer switch? TIA
The GE Add-on switch is required for 3+way setups. They will work with either a GE Smart Dimmer or Smart On/Off Switch. You use one smart switch and the rest are Add-on(s). The nice thing is that the Add-on switches will also work like dimmers if the master smart switch is a dimmer.
Please see the FAQ for wiring requirements.

Common problem that I found a solution to. Check Amazon for Inovelli switches. You can use one smart switch in a 3-way or even 4-way setup and continue using the old switches at the other locations. I installed one switch in a 4-way setup for about $30. With this setup, I can dim from the smart switch location and turn on/off at all 3 locations.

They even work as an add-on for the Fan Control.
