So just plug that into the nearby outlet?
I’m surprised there is not device I can plug into an outdoor outlet that the controls the 24VAC switch with just an on/off. Or is there?
It’s basically a smartthings compatible switch with an integrated isolated relay contact. It’d work for your application, but I believe it’ll still need to be mounted in an electrical box.
Update. I installed the Go Control Z-wave. Replaced the manual switch with this.works good. Only had to add a z-wave extender to get the signal outside near the pool panels
This looks like it was made for the job, also has external temperature sensor that could be run to pool.

you didn’t read the reviews, one is excellent, and that device “was” crap.
good luck.
That is a shame. It sounded promising, but I did not read the reviews. I was planning to get one soon so thanks for the heads up.
