2 Default Locations

Hi

I seem to have a similar issue as previously described. I have been trying to get the new SmartThings iOS app to work. When I log in I have no devices. When I log into the ide I seem to have 2 locations, both of which have been set to default. Unfortunately the new smartthings app does not show my original location with all of the devices added.

I have contacted customer support and have been waiting 3 months for an update, when I chase it the response I get is that they are working on it and nothing more.

Has anyone else had this issue / any ideas on how to resolve it?

Converted to Samsung Account - Have a duplicate, but empty location i can't delete

I migrated this morning to the Samsung Account in the Classic app on Android. Background - 2 locations. 1 called Home, 1 called Lake. It quickly migrated but then I couldn’t find ANY devices in my ‘Home’ except for one single presence sensor (my phone) and the image updated to a galaxy. The ‘Lake’ device looks just fine. Panicked, i closed the app. When I restarted it told me it was migrating my account… i thought it had just done that? This time around it took much longer, and when it finished it landed me back in this new ‘Home’ with no devices and a galaxy icon. I tap the hamburger and pull up my locations… my old location is back, so now i have TWO ‘Home’ locations. Fortunately, my old location appears to have all the devices. I try to delete the new ‘Home’. I get 'Something…

In order to delete a Home Location that has nothing in it:

• Login to IDE at https://account.smartthings.com
• Goto Locations
• If you have multiple Locations, select the invalid one
• Make sure there is no Hub associated to it
• Scroll to the right and click Edit
• If the Default Location shows “true” (will be read only)
• If it is “true”, go back to Locations and select your primary (Real) location and set the default location to “true”
• Now you can edit/delete the additional Home location as it will automatically be set to “false”.

Thanks for the responses

The issue I’m having is 2 fold.

1st the newer smart things app only shows a new location, which I assume was created during migration. This location has no hub assigned nor any devices.

2nd the IDE shows that both locations are default and therefore I cannot delete either.

Smart things support have not been helpful over the last 3 months of me questioning this!

I want to say choose the location with the hub and set it as the default and then delete the other location. But sounds like you have tried that. If support can not resolve, just rename the empty location, if you can, and forget about it. Not really what you want to hear.

I just had something very similar except the location I deleted did have all my devices. See if this might help:

I’m probably too late for this, but I also had the same issue. I would change the default location and it would not stay. Click on the email tab, there should be two of the same email showing up. Choose one of them and try again. If that doesn’t work, choose the other email and try again. It should then allow you to change the default and delete the empty location.
