My SmartThings app displays the 15 degrees temperature in the loft where my air con wifi router is instead of room wall controller 22 degrees. Very frustrating
How/where is the temperature being displayed?
Okay, the Samsung wall mounted controller which links to smart things app shows the room temperature set to 23 and confirms current say 22 degrees. If you manually change the set temperature in the walll controller to say 21 it reflects that change in the app however in the app it displays the temperature in loft 15 degrees!
I have the ceiling hose system, big box in the loft with two pull air hoses and two push hoses, actual air con unit mounted outside wall
I think some screenshots would be helpful here.
Click on the three dots in the upper right corner, check if there’s a preferences item and if yes, if there’s a temperature offset setting.
So what can I try next to get the app to reflect the room temperature from the controller on the wall instead of the loft temperature?
It could be done with a virtual temperature sensor device and a so-called rule.
Do you have a SmartThings hub? If yes, login here:

Select the devices involved, take screenshots from the whole page and post them here.
Do you have a hub?
Hi Phil. I have a wall old school lead thermometre and Samsung apps get temperature data based on your satellite location (GPS) other than phone temperature sensors.
Your device gets heated up and down depending on your use and charge patterns, so thermal sensors in the SmartHub (or Gakaxy) are more for device/personal health than weather (same goes for Humidity sensors). Check the Weather section of the Galaxy Hub and try switching your zipcode. It’s calculated based on likelihood not perceived weather.
Btw, I’m not a Samsung employee but Smart Home user, tested and lover. And I like weather data. Look out for your Smart Hub if you’re using home heating I would say (Brazilian here).
Also: aircon/heat temperature shown in the app is the one you set up the device to be, Wall Mounts will likely check for the room temperature and your Smart Hub app or Samsung Weather will model NOAA data which high precision based on your region and historical data. I assume they use local city data if you live in a metropolis because in São Paulo we have streetclock weather to compare to. do you have that out there btw I only know of in here?
As a tip, I would recommend including either zipcode, using neighbourhood name rather than the city or informing your address because you can be in a hilly area or near water and city name gets weather most from where your City Hall is. I’ve lived in a state capital where we would get from 700m to 1100m above sea level in a 5-minute drive and sum that to monsoons so I know that could happen if you are in a place like LA, SLC or SF/Chicago.
