Which user/account triggered the event manually

I currently have a smart app that adds a tile to the smartthings app and allows each person who has an account to press the on screen button and our garage door will open.

What I am unable to figure out is how do I log in the activity, which user/account triggered the event, by pushing the button.

I have seen a few samples of presence detection and relating that back to a person. I would like to do something similar but not using presence. In my use cases, the person could be anywhere in the world and turn on lights, open the garage door, etc.

Does anyone have any idea how in a smart app I can access the name or email of the account that triggered the event through their smartthings app?

Thanks for your help
