What Happens When Automation Delays are Interupted

I am programing a routine to turn on a light 5 minutes after a contact is closed. My question is, with ST routines as they are now, does anyone know what will happen if that action is interrupted? For example, what happens if someone manually turns on and then back off the light during the delay? Will it still turn it on after the delay? What if the contact opens and then closes again during the delay? Will the delay stop, reset, or something else?

  1. “…what happens if someone manually turns on and then back off the light during the delay…”
→ Nothing will change and the light will turn on after 5 minutes.
  2. “What if the contact opens and then closes again during the delay”
→ This depends how you’ve set-up your routine. If you use the “Status not changed for X minutes, seconds, etc.”-Option at the motion sensor for the 5 minute delay, the delay will reset itself and will turn on the lamp after 5 minutes from there, if not interrupted again.
