I frequently get notifications to my phone if there are any weather alerts, such as storms, frost, etc. I moved last year from the northeast to the midwest, and my notifications are still tied to the northeast. My address within smartthings is set properly to my current street address.
What is causing this and how can I fix it. If I can’t fix it, is there a way to disable these notifications without removing smartthings completely?
Hi. It sounds like you might be having an issue with the weather app on your phone. Unfortunately, this community is for users of the SmartThings Home Automation System. If that’s what you’re using and you thing the weather notifications are coming from SmartThings, post back with more details.
Otherwise, you’ll have to explore the settings on the weather app on your phone.
sounds like you did not update the geolocation in your app. open the ST app, click on the 3 dots in the upper right and select Manage home and check if your address points to your current location (or if still pointing to the old address)
This is coming from the SmartThings app on my phone. Under SmartThings, Menu, Notifications there is a list of all the notifications generated by SmartThings.
Yep, that does have it’s own location setting. If you enabled Severe Weather Alerts, the name of the app will be whatever you named the location. It won’t be “Severe Weather Alerts”. You should be able to turn the app off or change the location by entering a new zip code…
I think that pointed me in the right direction. Under Automations there is a Home selector, and under that was a place for a zip code that had my old zip code in it.
