View Z-wave device number in app

So we’re these devices at one time able to be discovered when you added a Thing from the ST app?

No. The Samsung hub is a slave to the Vizia master controller. The entire network is managed there. Kudoes to Samsung software folks that allowed most of the devices to be discovered automagically, though B- grade because it did so with just Z-wave dimmer etc. instead of the device name which was already set properly. I renamed the devices as I figured out what they did.

I suspect the vast majority of their market uses the hub as a master, so I’m an outlier.

Gotcha. Good luck

If you get everything back in, don’t change the Name, but add or change the Label Name in IDE.

That’s a really good tip. Thanks. I noticed that names set in the app were stored in the Name field, so I avoided the Label. I’ll play around with the variations.

I’m betting that as long as you leave name alone, adding label will display the device in Things with that label name, leaving the original name alone if the app happens to be using that as a static name.
