Its not mainstream JD, Jo Blogs would have no idea that exists unless they use Vodafone phone carrier and got spammed by Vodafone trying to hock there wares
Youāre definitely right that the UK Samsung website has been updated to say thereās no place to buy the regular hub.
Didnāt notice that one JD, looks like ST no longer exists in the UK then or to be more accurate, ST has no outlets at all in the UK apart from Amazon and a niche Vodafone derivative
Iām guessing that this has been in the works for a while, and that it has something to do with the seemingly unmovable October 14th date to sunset the Classic app.
Eliminate ongoing support of that app/process for the buyerā¦ie., make Samsung the ābadā guy.
Just my $.02
One thing for sure, its more than a simple app change
Maybe prep for a new hub? New Zwave 700 chip and all that?
Forget it! Samsung donāt make hardware anymore. Hub v3 will be made by Aeotec and no development on hardware have been made in last years by Samsungā¦
If you want 700 chip do like me and switch to Hubitat C7. Hubitat have active developpment and very good community. All is now local and no more cloud logicā¦!!! I have no regrets!
i just set up a ring alarm tonight and damnnnnn the setup and linking devices was so easssssssy.
But the selection of devices is so small.
Is V3 of the Hub made my Aeotec or are you saying any new hub will be made by them? Genuinely interested as been toying with the idea of jumping to Hubitat but resisted as I have over 100 automations in my house.
I think at this point a lot of us are prowling the hubitat forum and contemplating a shift
Iām going to give Samsung the benefit of the doubt a bit longer and see what happens.
never hurts (or does it?) to see what the other side has to offer. O.o
Yep. Only 2 things stopping me from ordering a Hubitat: no time at the moment to learn and set up a new platform, and no official support for Ring devices. I donāt need a $150 device gathering dust on the shelf, so Iām going to wait a bit and see if Samsung can clean up this massive train wreck.
If money wasnāt an object, Iād throw all my Ring devices (at least the doorbells) in the trash and find the time to learn Hubitat, but thatās another story.
From what I have been readingā¦I dont think itās a big learning curve but I agree no support for ring & other cameras is a no noā¦biggest no no for me is no rboy apps. I donāt want to leave and am hoping things do get better but I really am disappointed in samsung.
Ring is supported with Hub C7.
Look changelogā¦
Learning is easy, ULTRA fast ALL LOCAL processing! No regrets leaving Samsung, they dumped us first!
I just got a ring zwave extender for my Hubitat.
Until I learned a battery-backup powered existed I didnāt think about how vulnerable my mesh was!
Why was this comment flagged?

Until I learned a battery-backup powered existed I didnāt think about how vulnerable my mesh was!
The advantage of a purpose built security system: they have really focused on the continuity issues.
Problem is it still doesnāt really support cameras
This was a problem with ST for a long time and itās only finally been sort of addressed as long as youāre willing to buy certain models
I would hardly consider that āsupportedā. Iām not at all interested in Ring Alarm anything; Ring canāt even make a reliable doorbell (or at least, a reliable back end that lets you actually use the doorbell before the person pushing the button walks away). I wouldnāt trust my home security to them. Whereās support for doorbells, floodlights, etc.?
Without real support for Ring devices, like ST and Alexa has, Hubitat is probably a non-starter for me much as I would like to jump ship right now. And tossing my RIng devices, much as I would also like to do, isnāt feasible financially either.
Just ride it out like many of us are doing & keeping our fingers crossed. If this mess continues then I think my option will.be running hubitat & Samsung hubs.
