Unable to add motion sensors

Hi,

I have noticed that that my smart lighting automation is not working and checked already paired motion sensors which are triggering the hue lights to come on. I have both hue motion and xiaomi motion sensors. They seemed to stop working (no motion detected).

I have removed the sensors thinking that I just re-add them when I tried to add the Xiaomi sensors I was looking for the catchall in the hub events, but no such event showing up. I have even tried to add a totally new Xiaomi sensor. Nothing. Same with the hue motion sensor.
I have also power cycled the hub. Same thing…

Any ideas?

Try republishing the device handler for Xiaomi.

Hi, I did that too… I added even new one for my Xiaomi aqara sensors. I also tried different handlers for the normal Xiaomi. I know Xiaomi sensors are very sensitive, but my Hue sensor should at least pair up from the Smartthings classic app without problems… But nothing…

I had the same issue with a new Xiaomi motion sensor. I had to use the catchall method, which I suggest you try and attempt again.

Hi, I did that of course but catchall does not show in the events…

Did you check in live logging rather than events?

Hi,

I have checked that too now. There seems to be a reoccurring event there

addDevice evaluation: d: Hue Hub, selectedDevice: uuid:2f402f80-da50-11e1-9b23-00178876e741={deviceAddress=0050, devicetype=04, hub=321a3f03-e96e-4faf-bcee-20b656864b4a, installed=false, ipFixed=false, mac=00178876E741, name=Hue 76E741, networkAddress=C0A80168, ssdpNTS=null, ssdpPath=/description.xml, ssdpTerm=urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:basic:1, ssdpUSN=uuid:2f402f80-da50-11e1-9b23-00178876e741, stringCount=04, username=qe3NCzIexXujHltrINzcW3r3agfpffIfveEpq90F, verified=true}, dni: 00178876E741

I also see this happen again and again in the hub events: zbjoin:

{"dni":"8A7F","d":"0017880103299F12","capabilities":"00","endpoints":[],"parent":"0000","joinType":19}

The first one is my hue hub (76E741).

Do you have zigbee insecure rejoin enabled?

Yes I have.
I also removed the hue hub from Smartthings, but it did not help, still cannot add anything to Smartthings.
In addition, now I cannot even add back my hue hub…

Well, some update here. I managed to add back my hue hub. I have added the hue motion sensors to the hue hub. At least I can control some of my lights with those even though I have lost them to WebCoRE…
I have managed to add back one Xiaomi and one Xiaomi Aqara motion sensor before things bogged down again. Now I am unable to add more sensors. No catchall events in my hub events.

What I am seeing, I am flooded with:

Bump…

I am also having the same problems described by the OP. 6 of my Xiaomi motion sensors have all stopped working at the same time after working great for almost a year. I tried to re pair one using the catchall trick in events but i dont see catchall events which i have done many times. zigbee insecure rejoin is enabled. Zigbee radio on hub is listed as functional.

My zwave and wifi devices are still working however

Could the hub be defective?
