[UK] Scolmore ZIgbee Sockets & Modules

I’ve recently come across the new Click Smart+ line from Scolmore. They are offering a range of Zigbee products including single and double sockets as well as light switch dimmer and on/off modules.

The sockets seem to be reasonable priced, certainly compared to the Aurora stuff, so I was wondering where anyone has an experience of using them with SmartThings?

Just being zigbee isn’t enough to be SmartThings-compatible, it depends on which “profile” they use.

I didn’t see that information on their site, so the first step would be to check with the company and ask.

If it is a proprietary profile, it will only work with their own hub.

If it is zigbee home automation 1.2 (ZHA 1.2), ZLL, or Zigbee 3.0, then integration may be possible.

See the community FAQ (the topic title is a clickable link.)

Also note that some of their devices like the plug in pocketsockets use WiFi, not zigbee. Those models will not be directly compatible.

I like the look of these devices, has anyone tried the power sockets…?

According to the datasheet they use the zigbee protocol

https://www.click4electrics.co.uk/click-smart-home-accessories-c-957_1117/click-smart-13a-2-gang-zigbee-smart-switched-socket-outlet-p-10502

I may pick one up to give it a test…

I see they also have Wifi plugs but Im interested in these zigbee sockets…

Just being “Zigbee“ isn’t enough, because the third-party standard allows for many different profiles, including ones proprietary to a single manufacturer.

See the community FAQ:

FAQ: Zigbee Application Profiles, or why not all zigbee devices work with SmartThings

Hi
Did any try these? I am needing a single( 1 gang )smart socket, because the plug in ones keep getting knocked and broken, Lightwave RF has stopped doing them but Clicksmart+ has them for £20 , has anyone tried there Zigbee to smartthings? Can anyone think of another socket I could try thanks Daz

Yes, can confirm they work.

You’ll need to log in to the IDE and change the device type to “ZigBee Multi-Switch” as it will first add as a “Thing” but, there on out, it’s plain sailing.

Thanks Phil

Wondering how reliable these sockets are? Been using a few of the Aurora ones for just over a year but every couple of months they randomly go offline and Aurora’s support isn’t support…just excuses, they don’t seem interested in a potential software bug. So looking to replace them with one of these. Have you had any hiccups?

Hi Djsat2
I have not got one as yet, I fixed my single lightwaverf socket, going to spray it white, I won’t be getting until I pass one of the wholesalers, and depending on the answer you get

Just got three of these from Click4Electrics and used one to replace an existing socket in an outdoor waterproof enclosure. ST Hub found it immediately and, as suggested above, changed the type to ZigBee Multi Switch in the IDE. It immediately showed the other switch as a child switch and the second switch appeared automatically in the ST App too. Checking both remotely, they both work perfectly.
About as plug and play as you can get for smart stuff. Time will tell about reliability but so far would recommend for ease of installation alone.

Hi I have bought these Clicksmart+ but i cannot select them to add on the SmartThings hub,
what did you select Thanks Paul

Ive Just come across this thread. I had loads of the Aurora sockets and they always drop off. Some features not available to only smartthings users either - like turning the coloured rings off. Aurora customer support basically blame the users and want you to buy their hub!!!
Edge drivers dont work but they have been slightly more reliable since the last hub update

The scolmore stuff is good. Only reason I found this thread is because on the 30th the ide is gone. I was trying to find out how to add these without changing the device type. None of the current Edge drivers work well with these sockets.
Would be great if cluck-smart could push some edge updates for us.
Ive sent some questions to SmartThings hopefully ill get some answers soon

Anyone know any edge drivers that will work?

Thanks

@alleycatuk and anyone else, do they report power and energy?

@Andy_Godber

They do not report power useage. @Mariano_Colmenarejo has created an edge driver that works perfectly with the ClickSmart products.

I have spoken to ClickSmart regsrding future development and official smartthings compatibility and they have zero interest because the “offer a wide variety of smart home devices that work with their hub”
I said that their hub doesnt really work with people
Who have established smarthomes and who are looking to add UK 13a twin sockets without yet another hub.
They replied saying they would pass to their developer.
Drop them an email, put some pressure on them

Now that the above edge driver is made. They are fantastic zigbee sockets. If its power usage your after then you can use the above aurora ones with the same edge driver mentioned above.

Aurora have also cut support for smartthings

Thanks - Mariano just cut me another version of the driver which makes the Ajax-online version run better with quicker refresh of the power.

But the ClickSmart look to be really cheap; shame no power monitoring.

I didnt know Ajax made them. They are a brand id forgotten about because they never used to work well at all. However with these new edge drivers, all sorts of devices are becoming good again.

Will take a peek. Has the device been added to the same edge driver @Mariano_Colmenarejo ? Or a totally new one

Thanks

Any further update on adding the Click smart twin sockets? Bought 3 recently and when pairing with Smartthings app, it’s defaulting as Zigbee switch and as placeholder in IDE. There’s no network id so i couldn’t change driver to zigbee multi switch.

They are on and work well with @Mariano_Colmenarejo’s edge driver.

You may need to delete the old driver first, shouldn’t have to but might be something odd going on

They do not work with SmartThings stock edge drivers. ST are aware and say they are working on it and its a ‘limitation of the new edge drivers’, however now that a community member has found a solution i dont think they will rush.

At first I was a little disheartened with all the change and the faults. Now i think its bloody awesome

Thanks for the info. I’ll need to research all these as not within my knowledge and experience. Just about got used to groovy and now this edge thing…not even sure where to start!

I was the same.

If you can get your head around groovy and pasting code, this is a walk in the park.

You can go to the ide (i think it still works) and add your own network ide.

Follow the link to get @Mariano_Colmenarejo driver installed.

Opt in. Find the correct edge driver
Zigbee Multi Switch and Child Mc

Find the socket in your devices, click three dots, click driver, change to the above driver

To get the other side of the socket showing you need to change the device in settings - make sure both sides of the socket are on.

The new side will appear in no room assigned. It will also be found by alexa. You can then name and control both sides
