Trouble re-adding Schlage BE469 to SmartThings

Recently I accidentally blew away my entire SmartThings software implementation by mistake :slightly_frowning_face:. In one way, it’s a blessing, in another, it’s my current nightmare. I’ve been building a smart home for my mobility challenged wife and I for about 8 years using a combination of SmartThings and Echo devices.

Not having documented my original configurations has been my downside nightmare (I’m documenting all of it this time). The upside is I have a clean slate to start with and now it’ll all be documented.

My current toe stub is regarding my 3 Schlage BE469 deadbolts (SCHLAGE Z-Wave Connect Camelot Touchscreen Deadbolt with Built-In Alarm, Satin Nickel, BE469 CAM 619, Works with Alexa via SmartThings, Wink or Iris - Door Dead Bolts - Amazon.com). The model number is accurate. There is no suffix or prefix attached to 469. They worked perfectly in the past including managing my access codes. All of the searches I have performed in this Community regarding my locks comes up empty. All my search results result in BE469xx, where “xx” is usually ZP. ZP is not what I have. While my locks are Z-Wave, they are not the ZP model. My locks do have an alarm in them.

When I bought these locks I think I was using a GitHub custom DH before EDGE was implemented. If I remember correctly during the EDGE transformation in SmartThings, the custom DH was automatically converted to EDGE (but I don’t know which EDGE driver was working).

I’m having trouble adding these locks as new devices to my brand-spankin-new SmartThings smart home configuration. When attempting to add a Schlage partner device, it seems that the verbiage in the “What kind of device do you want to add?” question list may not apply to my locks. I have tried choosing: “Schlage Connect Z-Wave”; “Schlage keypad”; and “Schlage touchpad” with zero success.

I have the same V2 hub with more than 50 assorted Z-Wave, Zigbee, WiFi, and Matter devices which were configured in SmartThings and counting. I’m not interested in changing hubs. Unless I’m wrong, it seems the only downside to the V2 hub is no Thread border router support. I have enough Echo devices spread throughout the house for that purpose or I could add a SmartThings Station hub that’s currently sitting in a box. Unless you can convince me otherwise, I don’t want to split my device load between 2 hubs (but that’s probably a Community discussion to be found elsewhere here). In short, I have too many Z-Wave devices to change my V2 hub for another model.

Will someone please point me in the direction of which driver I should be using for these locks, and if the driver IS a custom EDGE driver, where to find the Invitation and what is the most current driver?

As always, thank you for your kind, thoughtful productive insight, and advice.

Have you performed a z-wave exclusion on the lock? If you haven’t… you need to exclude it before you will be able to add the lock back to ST. In the ST app, tap on the hub, then tap on the 3 dots in the upper right, select Settings and then tap on Z-wave utilities.

Samsung, in their great wisdom. removed the capability to do exclusions from the Smart Home Connect version of the hub

But this user has a V2 hub do the exclusion is available to them

I performed the exclusion and after several attempts was able to include the lock. After adding the lock to SmartThings I see this:

When I open the tile there is a message that pops up on the bottom of the screen for a few seconds. I cannot access any of the radio buttons or options presented.

Does anyone have a solution for helping me get access to the features in the driver?
