SO I have been using smartthings and these switches for years without issue. Recently within the last 2 weeks, I have noticed that the device status is not refreshing in smartthings. If I turn on/off a switch manually or from the kasa app, ST no longer sees this. In order for me to force a refresh, I have to go into ST settings, visit the tp-link integration screen and click done. Then everything refreshes.
I am still able to control the devices within the ST app, but automation fail now since ST is not getting updated device status.
I have rebooted my ST hub (v2), checked all firmware on all devices, latest app versions, forced stop apps, cleared cache etc. The only thing I have not done is kill the link between ST and TP link. I have not done that because it will kill all the automation, so trying to see if there is anything else I can do before I have to start from scratch with those devices.
If this is similar to the Meross integration that experienced the same symptoms you described… the only way to resolve it is to remove the integration and add the integration back.
This seems to have worked really well. I can see the switches now use the new driver and update almost instantly in the ST app when activated elsewhere. Thank you so much for the assistance.
I have a slightly different problem. I have had a bunch of hs200 and 3-way kasas connected with the tp link beta edge driver. I just got 3 new hs200s that look a little different but same model and specs. They are not being discovered by the driver, only by the official wifi integration. Anyone else had this problem?
My existing switches are still on the local driver. Just the new ones arent being discovered. I also go a new kasa dimmer and that one did get discovered…
The other thread is better suited since it deals with the Edge driver and this thread was for the cloud to cloud integration. Other users of the edge driver are more likely to view it there.
