This forum is so sloooow, frustrating. Isn’t building forum trivial these days … ?
Not when you do it from scratch, like it appears they decided to do.
isn’t reusing better than reinventing the “wheel” ?
I felt the same at first, but in the long run I think this is the better option for them. It’s not just a forum, it’s also a project site. It is still very buggy, and very primitive though. They have a lot of work to do.
Believe me I would LOVE to build a community site from scratch. This, site however, is a customized Wordpress blog. Some of the slowness experienced recently could have been a migration we were making when we made some new code live. We hopefully fixed the bug where logged in people could not view the forums.
