ThingLayer: An open source real-time web interface for IoT

Everything seems to be working. I could authorize my locks but they don’t show up in the dashboard.

Did you create a location and zone for the locks? After you have created at least one location you can create zones. Create a zone for the locks and then on the things page, assign the lock to the zone.

I created an account last night, authorized with SmartThings just fine. When I click import I get the generic “something went wrong” message.

Try and reauthorize the account. If that does not work disconnect the account on the services page and pm me.

I got my devices imported and placed in zones, but my dashboard page is giving me the “something went wrong” message. Great start so far, Jody!

Yes I created zones and assigned a few things. The problem is that I don’t see the locks in the things list.

Thanks

I had a bug that broke the import process if you did not have any of a group of devices selected. On my testing machine I have one of everything and it always imported fine. Thanks for help testing everyone.

Are you still getting the error on the dashboard?

Yep.

…is less than 20 characters.

Seeing some errors related to dimmers and switches. If you authorize a dimmer, you need to authorize the switch that goes with it.

Well done! Just what I was looking for, thank you!

I added pushed some of the processing to the background. The dashboard should load a bit faster now.

On the dashboard or zone page temperature and humidity devices can show a chart demo. This is very much a work in progress and just a preview of things to come. Clicking the device name will take you to the charts.

Update:

Most of the major bugs have been sorted out, thanks to a few brave beta testers. I am able to now focus on adding features and improving the website. The demo for the voice control interface is live, and power consumption charts will be live in the next couple of days.

If you have not visited the site in a the last week, you should come back and check it out. Please feel free to blast me with whatever comments or criticisms you may have.

Regards,
Jody

It is coming along nicely. The site opens much quicker now. I will continue to test it out and let you know.
Thanks

Do you have support to change the F/C for temp?

If you have your device reporting in celsius it should display as C. Some devices do not provide the proper unit and it defaults to F, I will be adding an option to change that behavior. However if you are asking about converting the actual values received, then I don’t know. It seems like that should be left to the device.

Interesting, I just noticed my Nest is reporting C but it has the F unit. Meaning it’s displaying 23 F when it should read 23 C.

Correct. Some devices do not specify the unit(F/C). Those devices merely add it as a label. So the numbers are right, I need to make a user preference for the default when the unit is not sent as an attribute.

Did you get a chance to open source this?
