When I am running the matter AirConditioner,I found that the temperature cannot be set for the AirConditioner in SmartThings APP,it is like refusing the change and revert to previous temperature,The ± buttons can’t work for me also.I am using a Samsung gateway as the central hub .My gateway model is EP-P9501,I am in China. When I ask my friends, they have the same question
5. Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again.
Sorry, but you’re in a region where we don’t have access to see your information, so, we cannot see more details of your device to help you further. Please contact your local SmartThings Customer Support for further assistance.
That’s not easy to handle, can you test it yourself?Add a matter AirConditioner or thermostat with heating and colding mode. Then you set heating temperature and colding temperature. Many of my friends have the same problem.Thank you!
Ok, I asked the engineering team about this to see if they can find something that helps you out.
Just out of curiosity, are you and your friends using the same device model?
Yes, we all use Samsung gateway to access Matter uniformly in China, Our gateway model is EP-P9501,Production Date:2023,I heard that this model is customized for China.Thank you for your attention.
Hi, @cui
Sorry for the delay, but since we cannot get information on where this case is already reproducible, it’s taking some time to get useful information to investigate further.
Something that can help in this case is knowing the model of the AC device; you previously provided the Hub’s model only.
Also, we saw another similar report where the issue was due to the “deadband” where the cooling and heating setpoints need to be “logically” separated to avoid malfunction.
For example, the cooling setpoint cannot be lower than the heating setpoint.
So, please help us confirm this isn’t happening to you by using setpoints separate from each other. This means:
Click on the number of the setpoints to be able to edit it instead of using the +/- symbols
For cooling setpoint, use a higher temperature that the one currently set
For heating setpoint use a lower temperature that the one currently set
This is to create a greater separation between them to know if those values are accepted.
It would be helpful if you checked the device’s user manual to see if the restriction is specified there to know which temperature range you’re allowed to use.
I know the precautions you mentioned when setting the cooling and heating, and I have tried the operation you suggested, but the result still hasn’t changed.
You can use any Matter air conditioning control device to test it.Thank you.
Yes, there was a device that recently got the WWST certification and is using this driver.
They had issues at the beginning, but they were related to the dead band that I mentioned before. After solving that, no issues were present.
This means that the driver is not failing for every single device. Therefore, we need your help to provide the following:
Brand and model of your AC device
Share a screen recording only about the AC detail view (the page that opens when you click on it in the main page of the SmartThings app) and try to control the temperature of both, cooling and heating setpoints so that we can see the behavior. This could help us have a better reference on what you might be experiencing.
