Has anyone found a reliable temperature sensor that uses a external probe? I tried some Tuya Zigbee ones but they are not recognized properly, they come up as switches (this particular model also has a relay built in) . I am trying to find something with an external sensor that I can clamp around copper pipes. I have hot water baseboard for heat, and would love to keep an eye on the temperature at each baseboard. I’d also like to put several on the boiler piping as well to keep track of things.

I am using DS18B20 probes with a Fibaro Smart Implant. Be aware that it needs a power supply. I have a set up in an airing cupboard measuring pipe temperature using 2 probes with no mains power supply and have to power it via 8 rechargable AA batteries which lasts 3 days or so.
Different markets have different devices. This is very important for Z-Wave because the frequency may be different.
In the UK I use Secure (brand) Z-Wave thermostats and sensors.
The Secure SES303 supports an external NTC temperature sensor (10k, I believe) but I think it is European Z-Wave only.
I did have to write Edge drivers for my Secure devices (SRT323, SRT321, and SIR321 [with temperature sensor]).
Thank you, this worked perfectly for me.
