Switchbot device status not updating in Smartthings (November/December 2024)

This was “automatically” closed but is still very much an issue for me. Any updates? Thanks.

Switchbot device status not updating in Smartthings (November 2024)

Nothing yet, still facing the problem and emailing switch bot via a ticket

Me too. They have not been particularly responsive lately.

I’ve been in a back and forth with them over this, with a wide open ticket. It’s not just Smartthings. I linked with Google Home and Alexa to see if it worked there, it’s the same.

At one point the rep tried to tell me it was never supposed to work?

So yeah let’s hope the next update fixes it… Frustrating as hell.

Also seeing Alexa issues. Creating scenes in the switchbot app and then triggering those Scenes with Alexa as a “middle man” from smartthings seems to work maybe 75% of the time. It’s no longer reliable though like it once was. No response from switchbot after repeated emails asking for an update. Tickets have been open for almost a month.

Maybe let’s make some noise here too.
Unclear if monitored but it can’t hurt…

Switchbot emailed today to say problem is resolved. I don’t see that to be the case though? Anyone else?

Same here still not updating in smartthings app for me.

Kinda gave up. Ended up creating virtual devices and setting up routines to toggle the switchbot stuff and it works. Simple work around, sure… but I was always under the impression this is kinda how switchbot was handled natively, so I don’t get what broke.

What I mean by that, is that IR device that shows in Smartthings essentially IS a virtual switch, so why would I need a switch for a switch?

Switchbot basically told me the way it’s been working for me for MONTHS, it wasn’t supposed to work that way. Meaning Switchbot never knew the state (I get that, but a virtual switch just ASSUMES the state, meaning if I hit it on in Smartthings, then Smartthings should THEN think it’s on so when I hit it off it turns it off, doesn’t matter if the device is truly on or off), so with an answer like that I can only assume a fix ain’t coming 'cause they don’t believe it’s broken.

So yeah, for me it’s fixed, just not in the way I’d like it to be fixed. Whatever.

True for IR devices, but Switchbot blind Tilts are not IR and should be reporting status.

Yeah clearly right now, none of their devices are properly reporting status to Smartthings, Alexa or Google Home, the end.

Any updates on a fix. If Switchbot doesn’t support their devices, I start searching for a replacement.

Nope. The customer service rep is haunting me at this point with emails… Kinda impressed.

Was tempted to get their remote and upgrade to the matter bridge but, yeah likely not a thing I’ll be doing.

I’ve had a lack of replies lately, or anything meaningful anyway.

I still have this issue too. Does anyone have a switchbot hub linked to smartthings via matter rather than cloud? I only have the services link via cloud but I’m assuming this problem still exists when using matter?

I do, and with the exception of the weird temperature reporting thing (which is fixed) I’ve had no problem with my SB devices in ST and/or Alexa.

ETA: I have both the older non-matter SwitchBot Mini-Hub and a Hub 2 and haven’t had problems with either one.

Switchbot support closed my tickets stating both Alexa and smartthings issues are resolved.

I am seeing improvement but still multiple blinds fail to respond requiring repeated triggers. Likely they will say these are bluetooth reception issues although hub is only a couple feet away

Any update on this yet @nayelyz as I am still facing the same problem of status not syncing to ST?

Exactly what you described here is what I was planing to implement but wait for a few more days to see what SB had to say…Also, the switches that have flown to ST from SB will be moved to a separate room.

Exactly the same with me as they said this will be done whenever the developer is free and then they closed the ticket. Not helpful.
