Supported Edge Hubs

Does anyone have a listing of all of the hubs that support edge? Looking for things like TVs, charging pad, etc.

I think every currently supported hub does? They deprecated the ones that didn’t (v1, ADT, etc).

The WiFi mesh hubs continue to have limited edge driver support as reported by several community members. They’re still being sold, but they are not part of the Aeotec deal, so it’s not clear whether they are end-of-life or not.

@Automated_House / @JDRoberts So you would expect LAN type drivers to work with the new Charging Pad, ST dongle and built-in hub for TVs and refrigerators? I have only tested drivers on an actual dedicated hub do to availability. A LAN type driver would require the hub to be on the same network as the controlled devices. I’m not sure how these other types connect to wifi.

LAN edge drivers utilize smartthings’ unique architecture, I don’t know how they would work.

But I would expect Wi-Fi over matter and thread over matter devices to work with the SmartThings “Station” utilizing the matter edge drivers, as that is a standardized interface based on IPv6 addresses.

Thanks. I would expect the same. I just haven’t seen it explicitly stated anywhere. Maybe @nayelyz knows?

Hi, @blueyetisoftware
I asked the team about this, once I get their feedback, I’ll let you know.

yes. I know for a fact LAN drivers work on the SmartThings Station since I own one and have tested a Kasa driver for it.

Perfect. Thanks for confirming that

Hi, everyone.

Following up on this, the team mentioned that the Hub should support Edge if it has the firmware version 38 or greater as mentioned in the FAQ page.

It’s true that some Wi-Fi Hubs have an issue but the team is already working on that. It is recommended that if your Wi-Fi Hub is currently supporting Edge drivers, don’t make a factory reset, I’ve seen people start having issues after that.

Also, Family Hubs had an issue running Edge drivers but it should’ve been solved this week. This is in case you see comments about that.

I have also your Philips Hue Lan Driver running on the Smartthings Station as well, no issues at all.
