ST Multi/ST Powered Motion Sensor gone berserk this morning (as of now...)

UPDATE Now living room ST powered motion sensor is showing false alert. Now cannot even turn off warning lights as they are stuck at the state “Turning Off”. Hope somebody from ST is reading this.

Update: I see a near pattern now… door is opening/closing every 40 minutes roughly…

Well, there is some paranormal activity going on in my home right at this moment. Both missus and I left for work by 7:10 AM, made sure all doors are closed, checked our MobileApp, got notified thru custom app that all doors are closed (ST multi’s on all doors).

Well, thereafter my basement door is opening and closing of its own several times within the last hour or so. And of course the sirens going crazy every time. Had to disable it. Three motion sensors around (ST as well as Fibaro’s) and of course ADT too which shows not motion at all. The haunted ST multi is at 63% battery then jumps up to 75% and back again to 63%. Rinse and Repeat. Have to wait now till I get home to do a battery pull.

AND OF COURSE MISSUS GONE CRAZY…

Opened a ticket #89629.

Still waiting on support… Its happening continuously… And I know what I am going to do with all ST motions sensors and multi’s once I am home. Darn the hope…

Hey Ron,

Support is looking into this now. The battery readings you’re seeing are actually “normal.” Battery readings are given in seven intervals from 0-100%. (There’s certainly room for improvement there.) You or others may have noticed sensors will often read 88% shortly after coming online. That’s because the levels have dropped from 100%. The battery readings are also approximations, not exact. So it’s not surprising to see the levels jumping between 63% and 75%–that just means you’re right on the cusp of between those two levels.

Support will chime in on your ticket soon.

@tyler1 On my way back home… Picking up a baseball bat on the way… Just in case somebody is actually in. If not the bat will still be handy to beat the hell out of that sensor… As i write this, I got two texts messages and the push.

  1. Basement Door was opened.
  2. Basement door is open

@smart don’t let the Missus get a hold of the bat…

K. Came back home and a baseball bat was not required (as of now)… Did a battery pull on that thing. Now it’s a waiting game to see if it worked. Opening and closing the door is at least showing the right status.

Thanks Charlie Stalla from ST support for diligently following up on the issue.
