Split RGBW controller into 4 virtual dimmers?

Hi guys,

I’m currently using a Fibaro RGBW dimmer for the kitchen lighting.

There’s some (12V) downlights connected to the Red output and some under cupboard (single color - white) strip lights on the Blue channel.

Eventually I was going to use the Green output to control the lights in the hallway next to the kitchen too.

Could anyone tell me if it would be possible to write an app to link each color output of the Fibaro dimmer to virtual dimmers so I could control the lights via separate virtual devices? I’ve had a quick go but I’ve hit a wall and wondering if it’s even possible to do what I want?

Thanks, Paul.

It’s completely possible.

@erocm1231 has just written something similar for a wifi rgb controller.

See this thread for more info:

Sorry. No answer but it might send you in the right direction.

Thanks, I’ll checkout the code for that.

Cheers, Paul.

For those that came to this thread late, this issue has been somewhat solved via this SmartApp.

It will split an RGB controller into R,G,B channels. No support for white yet and the virtual dimmers required do not appear to work with Dim With Me spartapp. Still a great improvement over nothing.
