That’s one of the fancy features of that particular model. You can set the lower sections to either freezer or refrigerator. Not sure what they had in mind for the picture, though.

I heard a rumor that Samsung, like many other companies, has had to postpone some product releases because of the worldwide chip shortage. Not sure if that applies here or not.

That does not sound right. Samsung must of been aware of the chip shortage before this recent announcement. Not discounting that theory but just one of those hmmmmm moments.
