Unfortunately these typically use a propriety encrypted version of the zigbee HA protocol used with cable company security systems (Xfinity, Cox, Time Warner, etc), and nobody’s figured out how to get them to work with SmartThings yet. I have a bunch of similar SMCDW02 sensors that worked with my Cox system, but I haven’t been able to get them to work with SmartThings at all.

Probably never. Better to look for compatible devices that use the zigbee HA 1.2 or Zigbee 3.0 profile.
