SMC Zigbee Devices (Xfinity Home)

In a drawer somewhere.

has anyone gotten anywhere with getting these to work? I just canceled xfinity home and was about to buy the ST on amazon until i found this threadā€¦

Some of them will work, some of them will not. The ones that use the zigbee home automation profile (ZHA 1.2) probably will, the ones that use a proprietary Zigbee probably wonā€™t.

If you search the forums for the specific model number for each device that you have, you should be able to check to find out whether they will work or not with SmartThings. :sunglasses:

Guys the door sensors do show up as thing therefore ST is seeing it. All we need is a handler for itā€¦anyone good at this stuff?

Specific sensor model number? (It will be on the back of the case or inside the battery compartment)

smczb02-dw I also have several of the SMC ZB01 PIRā€™s that as soon as I can find the manual Iā€™m going to re-pair and see I can get them to connect as wellā€¦

A word of caution. Once you shut down your panel you absolutely do not want to leave any of these sensors active unless you can get them paired because they will go into master mode and hijack any other zigbee device you have on your network. I totally forgot about this and now have several hue and cree bulbs that Iā€™m having to reset and get them back to the proper frequency. As for these devices not changing freq that is not correct. I used to work for one of the providers of this device and in the event of interference we can and do change the operating frequency around remotely. So donā€™t waste your time trying to hit 15. Just reset the device properly and get it into pair mode, once you get it into ST as THING then its only a matter of finding a handler that will talk to it.

You can use the smartthings open close sensor in the ide I use them they work fine for visonic sensors . I work for a cable company and I have tried the smc a siren with no luck. Not sure on the glass breaks Iā€™ll have to play with those. The bison if newer M-81 or whatever they are work ok. I use motion detector in the ide. Also if you put in the zigbee Iā€™d and some random device Iā€™d then pair it will detect. Then delete and reset device and smart thing picks it up most of the time. Also the light control modules work fine as well and they are picked up with no issues . The company I work for went to new zen thermostats. The centralite one I cannot get to work.

I learn that Xfinity Home device donā€™t work for Samsung SmartThing Hub.

Hello,

I would love info on how to set the thermostat up. I have got it into pairing mode but ST wonā€™t recognize it. I assume I am missing a step because I used it on Comcast before.

Anyone ever get the SMC zigbee siren working with SmartThings?

Thanks,

->g.

Anyone ever get a smcdw01-z to pair in ide and figure out a device handler substitute? Iā€™m finally ready to dump the cable Co security, but I have about a dozen of these smc door window sensors I would either need to get working or replace.

Also looking for the same. Any luck anyone? It shows up as ā€œThingā€ when paired. Iā€™ve tried the generic open/close door sensor device handler but it just shows open state on the app.

I have the SMCZB02DW model with the specs found here:
https://industrycanada.co/4137A-SMCZB02DW

Just chiming in since I recently left Rogers Home Monitor (Canada) and I was able to pair all my Visonic sensors left over with no issues. SMC I have had no luck

How? Iā€™ve been trying for ever to pair either the Visonic or the SMC.

Using the new SmartThings App. For Visonic Door/windows contact sensors
To Pair:

  • Go to add device
  • Select Ecolink under open/closed sensor
  • put your sensor in pairing mode
  • Pair your Visonic (rogers or Xfinity) door sensor

After Pairing:

That should work. Someone else on this forum figured this out so I canā€™t take the credit on this  Tyco is the manufacture of Visonic

This just worked for me. Any similar way for visionic motion sensor?
