Note that my camera’s IP address (192.168.1.201) is unique to my installation. If you are experimenting with this feature, use the correct address of your camera.
Thank you for the Microsoft KB article Chief. I do not use IE so I was unaware of the IE block.
I am familiar with the snapshot and IP settings of the camera, but thank you for the heads-up.
In case you would like to control your IP2M-841 within SmartThings, including PTZ controls and Live Video streaming and were unaware of such a capability, take a look at my Device Type Handler which may be of some interest:
Thank you!
Any idea why under my 5 SmartTiles Dashboard List that it is called “SmartTiles [1]” sometimes and other times the name I actually named the dashboard?
If I click one and go back to the list of names, sometimes it changes back but then sometimes renames other ones.
Any ideas?
@tgauchat
Yup… I’ve seen and been able to replicate this behavior, but not sure if it has one cause or two!
Can you log into your IDE page and the Locations tab, SmartApps (to see your installed SmartApps…).
Way down the list you’ll see one (or 2?) instances of “SmartTiles (Connect)”, each with child SmartApps (the dashboards).
Clicking on them will bring up, details, the top section of which may be helpful for me to understand the problem.
Best to email me in case there is any sensitive information: Support@SmartTiles.click
im not able to add more smart tiles dashboards. i get an error that says im not authorized to preform the selected action. does anybody have an idea what could be causing this ?
There’s a couple possibilities that we’ve seen, but the quickest resolution has been to uninstall “SmartTiles (Connect)” completely and reinstall from the website. Current dashboard configs will be lost, unfortunately.
SmartTiles is now a “published” SmartApp and the error may be a side effect on some users who may be living between dimensions.
How’s the new version coming along? Been a little quiet lately or maybe just ST platform malfunctions are soo loud. Just staying excited.
SmartTiles V6 is coming along really, really well, actually – thanks for asking!
We gave Alex Hawkinson, Robert Parker, and a some other SmartThings folks a few 10 minute “sneak peek” demos last week while we were attending SDC (Samsung Developer’s Conference) in San Francisco and while dropping by HQ in Palo Alto.
The demo gods were on our side and it ran really smoothly … well, @625alex had been making late night sacrifices to them for many weeks, so …
It still needs a lot of deep, deep testing and there are plenty of rough edges to smooth out – but we’re thinking of sharing some sort of demo pictures and/or video soon to keep everyone excited!
Yes, I want to extend the sneak peek demo to all. We should do something in the next little while.
@625alex @tgauchat
What kind of features are coming in an updated SmartTiles?
I didn’t even know an update was in the works.

…in the next little while.[/quote]
So…roughly sometime in the next couple years or so, eh? lol
We’re still keeping the details vague and definitely not speculating as to what the release date will be, since we really want to avoid making promises or setting too many expectations that we aren’t 99% certain we can keep. I won’t mention who we learned that lesson from.
I do emphasize that we hope you stay tuned here, also on the news (RSS compatible) section of our website and Twitter. @625alex’s work gelled nicely in time for the *sneak peed" demos we did at the Samsung Developer’s Conference, and it deserves to be shown to the world!
We also plan to give our donors some sort of priority in any major previews or Beta phases.
install from which website ? i originally installed from the smarttiles website, is there another way to do it ?
Same place. We updated the installer but it’s still at: http://SmartTiles.click/install
The App works very well for me, however there’s something going on with the OAuth, after the 30 sec refresh, I had to relogin to ST IDE, it’s impossible to save and republish the code with this issue going on. So I ended up remove the SmartTiles app, finished my code, and then reinstalled SmartTiles
If you have both the IDE and SmartTiles open in the same browser this is a known issue. They both fight for the authentication.
It’s recommended to do them in separate browsers (Chrome for SmartTiles and IE for IDE or something like that).
Ah I see, thanks @diehllane for the tip.
Private Browsing / Incognito windows also generally work (or a second Chrome user profile, etc.).
im getting a not authorized to perform the requested operation while trying to create a 2nd dashboard. do i need to revoke the token? or is this some other issue i might be having? i assumed since my main dashboard was working fine that revoking may not help so I have not tried to revoke it yet,
