Hi Alex. I have just downloaded the SmartTile App but cannot find it under the SmartThings Labs on my mobile app. Any reason why I am not seeing this? thanks!
Are you sure you actually completed installation? Please try to go through the installation process again and let me know the outcome.
Please PM me the actual app version (found in the SmartApp), and as much details as possible to debug this.
hi Alex, yes i have done it more than a few times and i did not see the app
Hi Alex, i am ok now. I was looking under the Add section and didn’t realize that i am looking under the wrong section! sorry to waste your time. I have question with adding in my foscam cam. per your notes, I’m suppose to paste http://DOMAIN:PORT/videostream.cgi?&user=USERNAME&pwd=PASSWORD, substituting my username under “USERNAME” and password under “PASSWORD” correct? If so, I am not getting a video and doesn’t seem to work. possibly doing something wrong.
That’s is how I have more mine. Obviously if you are using an external domain you would need to forward the port for your router.
Maybe try a different browser?
It’s 5.4.2-A version. I can’t see anything else to dig deeper. I don’t see anything in Live Logging at all.
Infact after last night’s upgrade is worse as in when I click on device order it immediately shows me a blank page in the Smart app.
Last night was a brutal upgrade. 20% of my apps have stopped working, mostly those using runIn and schedules have just permanently died!
Be sure to note Tech Support. A detailed change list would help confirm / resolve.
I miss the days when you could defer updates until others had tested then in real world…
@tgauchat I’m so fed up right now. I was up 18 straight hours writing a new app to find that it broke after the upgrade!
Now the runIn just doesn’t work for less than 60 seconds, it’s crazy! some apps are permanently dead because of this one stupid change!
I’m definitely sympathetic, though mostly unaffected, luckily.
I’m sure that I said this before: ST as a consumer product is much different than ST as a Platform (for Developers). ST doesn’t seem to take the responsibilities of the second mission with enough weight.
Was the runIn()
change announced in release notes, or just slipped in without notice, or an unintended side-effect??
Do you want to PM me the dashboard URL so that I could check for front end errors?
I created several switches with groups of lights to do things like turn on/off all lights, living room lights, etc. When I go into select the tiles to show in smarttiles smartapp, only one of the four “switches” is showing up in any of the lists. The “switches” show up in the smartthings switches section, and I’ve looked in the smarttiles smartapp under the various types of tiles (lights, switches, dimmable switches, etc.) and can’t find the other 3. Any ideas on why/how to fix this?
The SmartThings “Dashboard Solutions” (which includes the sections “Lights & Switches”, “Doors & Locks”, “Damage & Danger” and perhaps a few others), are implemented with special “Solution SmartApps” (that currently the Community cannot create or install, unlike all the other non-Dashboard Solution SmartApps.
In other words, the “groups of lights” (and any other Switch Shortcuts) that you have created under “Lights and Switches” are NOT “Things”, and therefore, no SmartApp (including the SmartApp that SmartTiles uses…) is able to access these non-Things.
The Dashboard Solutions (pages, shortcuts, groups) of all the various types I mention here are / were a band-aid applied to the original SmartThings mobile App a few versions ago. I can’t remember the time frame. They may be implemented differently in a future version.
There have been a lot of discussions as to how Groups and Scenes and Shortcuts should be “first class Objects” like Device Tiles (i.e., fundamental Objects), and thus usable by SmartApps interchangeably. But that has fallen on deaf ears.
TL;DR; SmartTiles, nor any custom SmartApp, cannot support shortcuts and groups. You could create Virtual Switches and create a SmartApp to define a Group of Devices to assign to each Virtual Switch.
Installed the app through the SmartTiles.click site. After adding my devices and getting the URL, I get these two error messages.
03bddcb2-9ef3-420f-b451-97c400342df3 8:46:45 AM: error groovy.lang.MissingMethodException: No signature of method: static physicalgraph.scheduling.SchedulerFactory.canUseCassandraSchedulerForRunIn() is applicable for argument types: (java.util.LinkedHashMap) values: [[:]] @ line 1154
03bddcb2-9ef3-420f-b451-97c400342df3 8:46:43 AM: error java.lang.NumberFormatException @ line 994
I was also getting the Line 994 error on my customized version of your app. I hope running the basic version would avoid any errors.
So I was trying to install a second instance of SmartTiles (so I can give a roommate limited control) and it appears the GitHub code no longer exists and is a closed source project.
How can I setup multiple users now?
Thanks!
Currently not possible, but it’s a popular request.
Drop a note to @625alex or a donation on http://SmartTiles.click, as I know he’s still interested in reviving the project in some form or another and appreciates the interest and support.
I’ll contact/donate to him! Is the project not in development anymore? Everything still seems to fresh and new, like the website etc.
I would like to know how to update. I am stuck on Version 5.3.2 M with no venue to update to 5.4.2.
You can’t update since the source code is no longer available, but you can install version 5.4.2 from smarttiles.clik.
@625alex has had some conversations with me and definitely working on the project… But as you know from other topics on the Community Forum (Hub V2?!?), setting expectations (especially dates!!!) is very counter-productive.
Stay tuned, though.
