I noticed today that the smarttiles app no longer works. It redirects to the action tiles page, which is a paid service. Is smarttiles now obsolete?

SmartTiles is now retired in favor of ActionTiles.

IMHO they do not charge what ActionTiles is worth. I went without using it for a period of time and I found it was a great bargain.

1. The ability to install new SmartTiles instances was disabled several weeks ago.

2. Existing installations of SmartTiles will continue to function until an undetermined future time which we will announce with as much notice as possible.

3. Today (June 1st) there is a temporary glitch aftering the Launcher URLs (http://smarttiles.me/?app=5750000d-c005-42b5-af70-33c2aa34b6e4&shard=NA01) that we are investigating. It is a glitch as of the the result of server consolidation on our side for maintenance efficiency and cost controls. I apologize for this glitch … we’re working on finding the resolution.

Thanks for the details Kodak, I am researching this issue. We have been doing some server consolidation for efficiency and to keep costs down, so a configuration typo probably slipped in here somewhere. There’s been a major ActionTiles update this week with a few reported hiccups yesterday, so we’re being pulled in two directions, and ActionTiles gets priority, of course. I’ll post updates on the SmartTiles Launcher problem to this thread.
