New SmartThings App & Hub Features
Exciting news! We’ve rolled out new user experience updates.
• AI Powered Routine Creation: Build automations with simple phrases, like “turn off the lights when I leave,” without manually configuring each device or setting.
• Routine Scheduling and Confirmation: Delay routine actions (e.g. turn lights on at 7 AM, then start coffee maker 15 minutes later) and opt to confirm if you want to run a routine or not. For example, give confirmation before running the Goodbye routine after the door is locked.
• Expanded Calm Onboarding: Our Calm Onboarding experience—which automatically detects, registers, and connects Samsung products to the App after purchase—now spans 59 countries (up from 14). Even better, select partner devices sold via Samsung websites in Korea and the UK are also eligible, with more global expansion on the way.
• SmartThings on Apple Watch: iOS users can now manage their smart home directly from their Apple Watch via a new SmartThings widget.
Hub Update
Our recent SmartThings Hub release includes:
• Matter time sync support was added so that devices like door locks can get the accurate time from the hub and use it to enable additional device features like time based schedules for PIN code access.
