New SmartThings App & Hub Features

Sleep & Health Improvements: With customizable sleep reports, you can create an optimal sleep environment, by adjusting temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, and light intensity. Sleep tracking can be seamlessly integrated into automation routines with compatible products, such as lights and thermostats. When paired with the Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring, these routines can sync with your actual sleep and wake time. For example, routines can turn off lights and the TV at bedtime or open curtains and play music in the morning.

Intercom Function: You can send voice messages through SmartThings-connected speakers, making in-home communication more convenient. For example, a family member away from home can use the SmartThings app to send a voice message that plays on a home speaker.

Routine Scheduling: SmartThings now supports weekly, monthly, and yearly routine intervals. You can ensure you never miss important events by scheduling routines for birthdays, anniversaries, and more. The possibilities are endless, such as smart lights charging color to celebrate a birthday or the start of your favorite team’s season.

Updated Samsung SmartThings Hub Firmware: Our latest firmware update introduces several enhancements, including reduced “popcorning” with Zigbee lights. This improvement minimizes the visible delay when controlling groups of lights simultaneously.

How about finally making a new hub? Zwave 800 and zigbee 3 with more ram and memory and bring back battery backup. You guys have lost all of your power users because your hardware is old and lacking. Youre way overdue for a new hub.

This states that SmartThings now supports automation routines based on recurring schedules - weekly, monthly, or annual - offering added flexibility for a variety of scenarios. I have not found this capability in the ST app. I’ve looked mainly in the “Routine” tab an I tried to create a routine to see if the option to schedule the routine presented itself. So far I’ve not seen the feature. Perhaps I not looking in the right place? I’m on version 1.7.29.16

Create a new Routine, If - Time - Repeat and you’ll see something like this:

The Samsung SmartThings Station is one of the best home automation hubs available for Matter support, but it seems to be unavailable pretty much everywhere. Even the Samsung site says there are no online retailers carrying it now.

As long as you don’t need Zwave, it’s been an excellent choice for people looking for a standalone hub that works with Zigbee, matter over thread, and matter over Wi-Fi.

Is this model being discontinued?

It would be an odd thing to do without a replacement being lined up, given that it is claimed to have quickly massively outsold all the other hubs put together and also it seems that although it appears to be a wireless charger with a hub, in the spirit of Hub Everywhere, the hub was always the key thing with the wireless charger being more of a nice frock for it to wear.

Odd it never crossed the pond either.

I’m sure there was talk of another hub device a while back, possibly in a speaker or something like that. Never heard any more of that.

I suspect I am thinking of the Harman Kardon Virtuo, in which case I would imagine it wasn’t particularly cheap if it ever went on sale.
