I had to reset my Huawei P9 that had SmartThings installed and now when I try to download the app from Google Play Store, I get a splash notification that - ‘‘This app won’t work for your device’’.
This thing is 8 years old and has Android 7…

This ‘‘thing’’ as you call it is Android version 9 - EMUI version 9.1.0 it has 3GB ram
. The app was working fine until I tried to re-install it.

It is very easy to get older Android versions of SmartThings. Go to a site like “APKPure”, find SmartThings, select the version you want, download it and install it and you will be back in business.
