Two and a half hours to take screen prints of pieces I wanted to make sure I recreated the same and to get all SmartApps and devices removed. Now to remove the hub and start the process of adding the new hub and everything back. I think the 2.5 hours will be a drop in the bucket compared to the time it will take to set everything back up. As they say, demolition is always easier/quicker than construction.
Jesse was on a roll yesterday. Kudos for the support!!!
I use the following hubs ordered by frequency of use/devices: ST-V1, (2) Insteon, DMP, Wink, Staples Connect, Almond Plus, and a Control 6. It would be cool if our user profiles contained our hubs and A/V/S controller list with a star ratings. We could search for common interests and aggregated product ratings. Coordinated automation has to exist to accelerate automation sales.
wow, you must spend every day troubleshooting, or ā¦you just got used to things going south and then come back! I thought Control4 is so much better for the price you paid. What is your expereice like with them? Have Harmony (2) Lutron, Hue, Wink, ST and seems like all I do is troubleshooting.
Well thatās why the Winks and Links are in a box in the basement . A+ is a decent router with an on screen weather app and clock. It has been downgraded and delegated to just those duties. Until somebody else releases a database of IR codes and IR blaster Harmony will always have a place. Well until every piece of home entertainment can be controlled over IP anyways.
I forgot Harmony and it is one of my favorites. Control 4 was part of an integration project. I wrote code for a company and needed a controller for testing. I have not used it other than for development. I think Patrick Stuart is one of the Control 4 gurus. I spend a lot of time on automation maintenance, but it is usually my own issues. Automation is my hobby. I love it when I am not totally frustrated with it.
I forgot AMazon Echo and Logitech Home Hub.
Iām working (still) on my hub v2 device setup and I donāt get the Hue integration. It found my Hue Bridge quickly, tapped next and pushed the button on the bridge but it only sits there with the sporadic spinning wheel but that is it. If I tap done it take me back to the Bridge discover (1 found). Am I just not waiting long enough and on which screen should I be waiting on? It isnāt self explanatory just by looking at it.
Also, is there a way with the new app to setup a multi sensor like a garage door instead of a regular open/close so I can monitor the tilt feature like a garage door? On a similar note I cannot find where to change the view of the sensor (i.e. Vibration icon instead of the open icon).
Thanks
Is it just me, or the occupancy sensing is not possible with Smart Light app? Have had lights on motion staying on with no problems before. Now that I moved to Smart Light app, my lights turn off even if I am moving around. And even more annoying is that they donāt react to motion for a minute or so.
Iām still waiting to get mine (ordered from Amazon) but I was wondering if thereās any advantage to migrate to 2.0 under my existing account vs starting fresh with a new account? Iām thinking of starting a new account just to start clean
I snapped the tabs on two of mine. Tape the battery to the board and itāll be fine.
Im jealous of the people who already have their new hub. Still waiting on mine!
Great build quality. Ha⦠What kind of battery does it use?
Is WeMo really the most popular light automation product?
I didnāt say the most popular lighting automation products.
Youāre correct, sorry. You said āone of the mostā not āthe mostā. Still not sure I agree with the statement.
Itās relative. Belkin sold a lot of them, and many folks here who loathe them own or owned them. I for one have zero issues with my single WeMo switch when using Echo or the WeMo app. Itās only when using ST that I have the problem.
I canāt find it on STās compatibility listing any longer, but I know that it once was. Still, Tyler updated the instructions just last week, so they should support it properly.
Will we find one day that Nest, Hue, Dropcam, WeMo, Sonos etc donāt work at all in favor of Samsung and officially licensed products? I donāt suspect so, but for now Iāll keep arguing for support of labs and other devices.
Theyāre on the official compatibility list under āBā for āBelkin.ā But thereās a "smartthings lab "note which means the integration is still in beta.
Ah, I see it now. The lab thing is really more my concern with ST than the possibility of removal. If a product is forever considered labs then is it truly supported? I switched back to Wink primarily because my Hues just would not fire properly in ST. Now, Echo has alleviated that, and Iām just waiting to read some reports on V2. The Samsung acquisition has me once bitten twice shy. I just do not like them.
I digress.
Thanks, I didnāt want to tape it down until I could get the hub to recognise it, which it finally did after 2 days of trying. No idea why the hub lost it or why it magically worked, but Iām hoping itāll stay now.
