I missed the bundle opportunity while on business travel, so I don’t want to miss out on the first run of these as Ben eluded to in the last post. Is it safe to assume that the bundle offer may not come back for the first run of the v2’s?
Wow, I’ve been waiting patiently for the second round offer cause I was missed in the first round but if it’s not gonna happen, I’ll very unhappily wait and keep bugging ST until they do the second round.
That’s why I’ve been following this thread. When it first ran out, Ben said it was a temporary set back, so now I’m waiting to see what “temporary” meant.
Why are you upset about a known fact with V1, early in its release? Seems your own lack of research is more at fault then the technology. And as for what is underpowered or not, or enough memory—how could you know whether the V1 is capable, from a CPU/memory ability?
I’ve noticed the V2 hub is also up for pre-order on Amazon. Will pre-orders from the ST shop receive priority?
If you are a current customer and did not get in on the “Appreciation Bundle”, you should be contacting support. They are keeping a list of people, to whom we will offer a new deal — not the same deal — in the near future.
@Ben, yes , I’ve been with ST for a while now. Somehow, I was passed over in the emails. I contacted @April and she sent me a copy of the offer. By the time I went to pull the trigger on it (which wasn’t long after), It was gone. I will do as you suggest though and contact support.
In the meantime though I’m quoting you as saying “not the same deal.” Please tell me it’s at least comparable.
Some light like it better some may not. Still pulling together the details.
You should also be sure you are subscribed to the main mailing list. Some people probably unsubscribed without knowing they would miss out on offers. You can do that at the bottom of the main SmartThings website.
Hey Ben, should we be paying extra attention to IFA Berlin this year?
Please say more about this upgrade deal. It is not in my inbox.
We have been out of town for a week on vacation and just saw the promo email. It looks like it is sold out. I also saw that promo code is posted on other forums so anyone could use it whether they were already a loyal customer or not. Why can’t these companies figures out promos (especially Samsung).
The good news is I was trying to choose between the Note 5 & Smartthings or iPhone 6s Plus & HomeKit/AppleTV. Thanks to this promo screw up (and some poor Note 5 reviews) my decisions has been made easier.
Best of luck to those who got in on the 2 deal and goodbye Sanmy!
Good luck. I’m sure this was the last promo ever… (sarcasm)
What deal did you get on the iPhone 6s Plus and HomeKit/AppleTV? Or are you paying full retail for those?
Since Smartthings works with all android and apple mobile devices (and windows mobile too) I’m sure there are other phones then the Note 5…
Anyway, see you on the Apple HomeKit forums (oh wait, there aren’t any, at least open to the public)
What info will support need? Like to send everything to them as to not overwhelm them.
SSN, DOB and a credit card should be enough!
They have already said they will fix the promo issue, I have faith.
I am holding out to see what the promo is
I see a big benefit to new hub but just don’t know if I need it right now, my v1 works just fine for now.
Oh yeah, Scott? 20 chars!
Although I use a V2, I agree- V1 would suffice - battery backup is nice, but I personally haven’t utilized video yet. If you are considering video though, V2 is great.
We don’t loose power much and when we do ST is the last thing I am worried about, with my setup anyway
Local processing would be nice as well as video. Don’t get me wrong, I really want the v2 but can wait until a promo if need be, that’s all I meant
When you say considering doing video, will there be any integration with these bad boys?
