Smartthings Cam infrared LED not turning on in night vision

It’s pretty straight forward, the IR LED doesn’t turn on when it’s dark. Night Vision mode turns on and the image goes to greyscale, but everything is dark and can barely see anything, and when there’s nothing at all lighting the room it’s pitch black.
