Smartthings Bond Support

@bond-jacob is your SmartThings connector a cloud-to-cloud integration or over LAN?

Cloud-to-Cloud. The decision to only support devices with local control was made to not waste effort, as we’re deprecating our cloud-based devices.

How to you disable bond from smartthings?

The settings ā€œbarsā€ at the top left of the ST app dashboard → settings wheel → connected services → Bond → delete

@bond-jacob - I have several small ceiling fan/lights that have no RF receiver or remote control. Is there a cheap RF receiver that I could set up without remotes? I assume these show up in SmartThings as separate devices (any screenshots of ST app showing a Bond fan/light device?)

There are lots of aftermarket remote kits, I don’t think any would come without a remote though. You’ll need to find one that is compatible with your fan’s motor: the deciding factor is AC vs DC motor.

Yes, based on the available controllers we went with a split Light & Fan device control.

I can only put one image per post because I’m a new user, here’s the fan control

And for completeness, here’s the light controller. The ā€œDimmerā€ is only available on lights with a controllable brightness level.

Thank you, I should have looked first… There are indeed lots of <$15 options with remote and receiver on Amazon. Also, the remote is probably desirable anyway to mount over the existing switch. Only issue is that I bought small fans so I’ll need to see if there is enough space to add a receiver.

If you happen to have separate wall switches for light kit and fan motor, you can buy z-wave switches that will allow control from SmartThings.

Are these instructions for the current st app or classic. I have current st app

current. on iOS you swipe left to delete.

So network issue seems fixed. However…still only see one of my 3 devices

Let me know if the issues pop back up after 24h. They shouldn’t, but I just want to verify.

I can look into why, just need your Bond ID or email. I would say message me, but it seems these forums don’t have private messaging (or did I just overlook this feature? EDIT: I’m guessing actually that I don’t have access to messaging because I’m still a very new user). You can PM me on our forums (this is me). It’s probably due to the cloud/local distinction.

@AwsmSpaceMonkey I can’t reply anymore today because I’m a new user, so I’ll have to edit this in as a response. I can troubleshoot for you. ~5% of our fan instances in the field haven’t yet been ā€œmigratedā€ to a ST-supported implementation, I’m guessing yours belong to this 5%. If I identify them I can better prioritize this migration. If you’d like, PM me at our forum link above.

I’m going to be installing one of these today. I saw there are 2 Bond apps for Android. Is there a particular one I should use in order to integrate with SmartThings? Or does it not matter? Thanks.

Please use the ā€œv2ā€ Bond Home app. The ā€œv1ā€ Bond Bridge app is legacy, we are gradually moving users over so they get great new stuff like ST integration

Am I missing something, I can’t see anyway to add the bond hub to my V2 smartthings hub.

My bond hub is running v2.8.2 and I’m using both bond apps.
I’m also using both smartthings apps

How do I pair the bond hub to smartthings?

Thanks.

You go to new SmartThings app:

  1. PLUS button
  2. Add device
  3. scroll down to ā€œBond Homeā€
  4. Fan/Vent
  5. pair with Bond Home account at prompt
  6. profit!

Brands are regional. What country do you live in?
