SmartThings app crashes after recent update

About a week ago the SmartThings app on my Note 20 stopped working. There was a recent Android update for the Note 20, not sure if there was a recent SmartThings app update. Clicking on the icon just results in s split second loading screen then crash to desktop with no error. Subsequent launches bring up the Android “SmartThings keeps stopping” error with the option to close the app or look at app info.

If I close the app, clear the app cache & data it will launch. I’m able to get to a logon prompt. As soon as I logon, the app goes back to crashing.

I dug out my old Note 8 & was able to install SmartThings on it fine. App is working fine. Rebooting my v3 hub in the house has no effect. I haven’t headed out to my shop to fiddle with the older v2 hub out there yet.

The Google Play store entry for SmartThings seems to have several other people complaining about the same issue in the past few days, but I haven’t seen anything on these forums yet.

Hey there! @Fallon, I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with your Note 20 while using the ST App.

Thank you for providing the troubleshooting steps that you have already completed, I completely understand your frustration.

  1. Have you already attempted a complete uninstall and reinstall of the ST App?

  2. What is the version of the ST App that you are currently running on your Note 20?

  3. Do you still experience these symptoms when you logout of the SmartThings App and back in?

If the symptom persists, I would recommend creating a Support ticket so we can look into your concerns with the ST Application further.
