SmartThings and IFTTT not linking DO NOT UNLINK!

It IS 5, they are downgrading to 2.

Is there any reason I cannot create another IFTTT account with another email address to get more free Applets?

Thanks. I don’t think I have gotten an email but we’ll see on 2/6.

No

Also I have noticed some services don’t count towards the 5 free applets if you set them up from a third party app like iRobot.

Correct. If the manufacturer provides the applet, it doesn’t count against your free quota, or at least it hasn’t up until now.

Hopefully that doesn’t change Feb 6th!

If you ditch the Alexa app, out of interest how are you going to use your voice to control devices?

Well, more specifically, what I’d like to do is keep the SmartThings-Alexa integration but ditch as many of the other Alexa integrations as possible (Govee, Gosund, etc.) and use Alexa ONLY for voice commands, not automations - I’ve gotten to the point where I have so many “Routines” that they are unmanageable for Alexa (as well as for me). I just really dislike the Alexa app as well. It’s completely focused on the user who only wants Alexa to function as The Clapper

Anybody face issue on missing trigger for Smartthings on IFTTT? seems like some trigger lost after ST come back…

I have “change to rain” trigger from Weather Underground by IFTTT and the same automation in ST.
Both send notifications. ST works fine, IFTTT most of the time didn’t perform the the automation. By meaning that I received notification from ST and not from IFTTT.

So, I’m with you … Seems that some triggers are missing.

I found if u go into ifttt to your applet and disconnect the legacy smart things ,connect to the service called smarthings and put back your logic it all works now.

Is anyone still struggling with IFTTT? I get emails about once a week saying my account needs to be relinked.

My connection still will not relink. I have given up and no longer plan on using IFTTT.

Every since they set up their new integration with smartthings, I have been getting this email practically every day. Then I have to go and relink. This is ridiculous. However, I can’t contact IFTTT because I have the free service. Smartthings support says the issue is on their end. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Edit: I do have multiple IFTTT accounts and my smartthings account has 3 locations. I’m not sure if that is causing these issues.

That is referring to the OLD integration, which you’re no longer using. You need to remove the SmartThings Legacy integration from IFTTT.

I also was receiving that daily until I realized there were TWO SmartThings entries in IFTTT.

I did that a while ago. The old one is called “smartthings (legacy)”, I believe. I rebuilt these last week with the new one.

Did you remove the old IFTTT integration from the linked services section in the ST App. The new one is called IFTTT API Access.

Now we are getting somewhere. It is still listed in my linked services. When I try to delete, it gives me a network error.

If you are using an android device try clearing the cache and force stopping the App. Probably won’t help but it is worth a try.

If that doesn’t work E-mail CS and ask them to delete it.

I already emailed them. I’ll also try my wife and son’s phone tomorrow. This way, I won’t have to clear cache and loose my device locations in the rooms again.
