Anyone been able to get air conditioners to show up?
Didnāt work for me. Iāve renamed, added to my hub, into a room, etc. But it just shows up as offline.
Edit: I may have made some progress. I had to edit it in the API, not in the SmartThings app. The two scene pseudo-devices were showing as offline. I found the device, edited it, noticed that the hub was not set, chose my hub, saved it, and then it showed as online in the device list. Soon after I did this, the SmartThings app changed status from āOfflineā to āChecking statusā¦ā Itās been that way for a few minutes.
Edit 2: Eventually I turned the scene psudo-switches on in the SmartThings app. Now theyāve changed from endlessly āChecking statusā¦ā to āOnā.
My Merkury RGBW bulb also shows up as offline after periods of no use (like overnight), but it still works when triggered by an automation, and reports as on line after it has been activated once.
For test purposes I have the bulb in an automation that gets triggered many times every day. It works every time.
If is a strange integration but is seems to work reliability.
Great idea. Works a treat.
If only the virtual switch could change state based on changes on the Tuya side, so that when I have my Google Home turn on the light, or if I do so in the Smart Life app, this would also turn on the virtual switch in SmartThings. I canāt think of a way to do this. Changing the state of the scene in the Smart Life app does not update the state of the corresponding pseudo-device in SmartThings.
I donāt use the Smartlife app except for the initial setup. And I donāt have Alexa linked to Smartlife.
Alexa is linked to the SmartThings virtual switch, so state synchronization is not an issue.
Iām really (like really, really) hoping that this showing up and working in ANY capacity - yes, I know that it is currently only showing automations from the SL app but itās a start - means that Tuya are working on getting integration fully fledged for ST. I.e. developing platform wide support off the back of their announcement at MWC last year and not just Globe Suite only.
I canāt get past the initial setup. I get the following error:
Couldnāt add device
A network or server error occurred. Try again later.
I guess Iāll keep trying again later until Smart Life servers also decide it is later and allow the connection.
You will receive that error message, but scenes and select devices still should show up.
only my scenes would show up with the Chinese carecters.
But from this morning my bulbs have now showed up in the new app and they also work. Outlets and lightswitches still dont show up.

Unfortunately, no. After 2 hrs, nothing showed up. It sounds like Smart Life still has a ways to go.
To make this work you need to make in Smartlife an on and an off automation for each Smartlife light and/or switch.
Then you need to run the SmartThings/Smartlife integration in Smartthings.
You will get the error message that intergration did not work, but when you go back to the home screen you will find an on and an off switch for each device.
You can use these switches in your automations. It seems to work pretty good.
Iāve not needed to make a automation for any of my bulbs they all have showed up in the new app and can be controlled with the new app including color and brightness.
Still no sockets.
Hi! What just worked for me to integrate a smart switch from the SmartLife app to the Smartthings app is the following:
-
Create two automations from the SmartLife app. (i) One that turns on the smart switch (or the device of your preference) and (ii) another to turn off the smart switch;
-
Connect the SmartLife app to the Smartthings app. There should only appear the recently created automations (at least for now). Delete the Chinese characters and assign a room to those automations;
-
Create a Virtual Switch and assign it to the same room;
-
Create two new automations from the ST app: (i) IF Virtual Switch is Activated, THEN Smart Switch is On; and (ii) IF Virtual Switch is Deactivated, THEN Smart Switch Off.
-
Hide the automations created in SmartLife from ST; and
-
Enjoy! Iāll update if I loose the connection (since it has happened before) but for now it is working perfectly.
(sorry if this post was a little basic, I just got excited for getting it to work).
Blockquote Mine breaks at step 2. I cannot make the connection.
Even after Smartthings says the integration failed the Smartlife automations show up as devices in unassigned rooms in Smartthings.
how about color bulbs? any way to change color from ST?
Not that I can figure out. Just on and off.
Following.
I get full control of my colour bulb. and smart things gets notified when I change it.
Ok can we make a list of devices that show up in Smart things and if they report the state back to smart things if you change them in Tuya. All my autimations and tap-to-run show up as devices.
I have a relay switch (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07V4FPLPW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
A colour LED bulb
Looks like this one but I think I got it from AliExpress
I removed the link because I tried one and it didnāt support smartthings.
I think I have found it on AliExpress again so I have one order to try, and Iāll report back.
And a Ir/RF433 transmitter. (like an RMpro)
Iāll reply back if I can track down the make of each.
