Smart Control of Pool Pump and Heater

Hello. I am currently using an Intermatic mechanical timer that powers a single-speed 208V pump including a heater fireman switch that kills 120V power to the heater in advance of turning off the pump. I also have a two-pole disconnect next to the pump. I’m looking for a wifi-based smart device that will allow app control while maintaining the same heater protection and two-pole disconnect. Only “solution” I’ve come up with is a two pole contactor triggered by a 120V smart switch and a 2nd smart switch for heater, with the smart app switching off the heater first and time delay to switch the pump. It’s complicated but would work. Does anyone have a better approach? I don’t think Intermatics smart controller has the integral heater protection. Thanks in advance!

I use two GE wifi controllers. One is wired for 240 on the pump and the other is for the 120 light. Both outside in direct sun. Very durable. Very pleased.

Thanks Dan. If you can, pls share the product info so I can see if it works for me. Appreciate it!

This is what I used. Easy to wire and self-explanatory.

That’s a Z-Wave device and the OP said he wants Wi-Fi.
