Hey everyone,
Having spent over an hour (both online chat and a phone conversation) with Samsung Support. They advised me to try on here to find a solution to my problem.
I have a new S95C Samsung TV & a Galaxy A52 Samsung phone. There is a Smart Calibration App for the TV, but it does not appear even as an option within the SmartThings App. I found a thread that suggested resetting the TV & then trying again, but that didn’t work.
According to Samsung support (who actually took remote control over my phone to check out / try a few things) said that the feature must have been removed!
Is there any way I can get the app somehow so that I can calibrate the TV screen to my room etc.?
Many thanks in advance for any advice / suggestions / help.
Steve.
This forum was set up several years ago so that smartthings customers could help other customers with the SmartThings Home Automation platform. Quite a few people here do have Samsung smart TVs, so hopefully someone will have a suggestion for you and post.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t already, you might try asking the same question in the official Samsung devices help forum. They have a whole section there for televisions, and get really deep in the specifics.
Since it’s sort of an app question, they may end up sending you back here, but I think it’s worth a try in case the option has been moved to someplace other than the smartthings app.
Let us know if you find out anything.
Here’s The link to the Devices forum. (The blue words “get help“ are a clickable link.)
The us.community site sends you back here, due to them having a lack of resources.
This is bad Service/Customer Support, each team passing on the problem to any other. If Samsung can’t support functions like Smart Calibration, then they should not be advertising them or listing the functionality on the device.
Hi all,
I have an update. Someone on another forum told me about a stand-alone Samsung Calibration app.
I installed this, but unfortunately, when I go to add a device (and open the QR code for doing so on the TV), even when I very carefully square up the code on the screen within the photo window on the app, it doesn’t detect the QR code.
I have checked all the settings in the app (that the app has all permissions that it needs) and the SmartThings app itself (+ my phones camera) both easily and quickly detect the QR code, but the app does not (I have even removed the TV from the SmartThings app - just in case there was some kinda oncflict between the stand-alone app and the SmartThings app).
