Sensor says it's open, but it's actually closed. Anyway to fix?

I have one also. Pulled the battery, put it back, and it said closed. But SmartTiles and Rule Machine both report that it is open. Say what? Something is messed up.

What does ide say on device detail. Had one yesterday that was closed, but open on the device page, and the last state in the events was last closed. Open/closed the door and it bounced back to normal. Same for a virtual presence device.

Has anyone heard any updates on this. It’s really frustrating. I’ve already had to resurrect my Vera to cover for other Smartthings deficiencies. I hate having to manage two sets of controls.

I get this intermittently with either a physical door or more regularly the garage door… I think it is the back end missing events again.

Sometimes and i stress sometimes, opening and closing mine work to right the situation. Or a battery pull. But I do still receive these randomly.

I was all good for a couple weeks. Since yesterday I have a dry contact switch attached to my doorbell which says it is open (although it is actually closed), the last event confirms it is closed. In the app, if I look at the Recently tab it shows the last event as closed and when I tap back to Right Now it says closed but quickly changes back to open.

If it was really open my doorbell would be ring. Loging in/out, closing the app, z-wave repair, rebooting the hub, have all failed at resolving.

Its strange that it is isolated to this one sensor this time.

I’m having this issue right now. Three-axis report is 1000, 101, 45. Contact: open, and acceleration: active.

Except of course it is NOT active, and the door is closed. Tried battery removal, will try reboot of ST hub tomorrow but I’ve done that before with no success.

Very frustrating.

EDIT, 18 hours later:
Hub was unpowered for two hours. I put it back online.
Garage sensor reporting 66% battery… but still reporting as open even though it’s closed. Three-axis report identical to above. Oh, and it has not reported status since 18 hours ago.

What’s next? Is the battery dead, but the system doesn’t know it?

EDIT 2: battery was dead. Replaced, and now works.
HOWEVER. Same troubleshooting path does not restore my motion sensor.

I had to replace the battery in my sensor on my NEXX garage door opener. It’s been confused ever since. It tells me my door is closed when its open and tells me its open when its closed.
