I have the light in an outdoor area and don’t rely on the sensor for any automations, although do find it very good for turning itself on with movement, but is too sensitive/erratic for say inclusion with an alarm system. Its inability to turn itself off was why I set up the sharptools rule.
I have just set up a basic rule to turn off after 5 minutes in sharptools - not based on motion sensor - just on device status on vs off - works reliably.
To turn on the light deliberately and not have this rule turn it off on you, you could use a virtual switch trigger to turn the light on deliberately and have some logic/condition that disables the turn off rule;
- IF sengled light on AND virtual sengled switch off
- THEN turn off after 5 minutes
A little annoying it cannot be better than this, I agree.
