In the last couple of days, when I turn my washing machine on to start a load of laundry, it defaults to the delicate cycle. I cannot get it to go back to defaulting on the normal cycle. I have not (intentionally) changed any settings and I’m not sure what could be causing it. I have the SmartThings app, but rarely use it/go into it. I happened to look at it today to see if there was a way to change it and noticed that the delicate cycle immediately pops up and has what looks to be a favorite tag next to it.
I have tried 2 things. I have unplugged the washing machine and let it sit for about 10 minutes before plugging it back in. I also tried disconnecting my washer from the SmartThings app and readding the device. Neither of these methods worked.
Can anyone help direct me on how to get my washer to default to the normal cycle when the machine is first turned on?
I don’t have a Samsung washer, but I do have a Samsung dishwasher. In the ST app open the device tile, click on 3 dots in upper right corner and there maybe be a Settings option.
Thank you! I tried this as well, but for some reason, the only thing that shows in the settings is the Wifi. I figured there would be an option in there as well.
This forum was set up a number of years ago so that customers could help other customers with the SmartThings Home Automation platform. But we do also get a some of the app questions here.
There is a separate official help forum for appliances, televisions, and mobile phones, which is staffed by Samsung employees. Sometimes you can get a quicker answer there for these items. They may just send you back here if they think it’s an app issue, but it’s worth trying.
I performed several tests on my Samsung washer-dryer and the cycle that it places by default is the one you have as your frequently used cycle. You can see that in the service tab, pressing drum cleaning.
What you need to do within the smartthings app is to uncheck the iA pattern box then you select the cotton cycle, send it to the washing machine (you can do that wash) after that, that cycle will be the first one and the list of cycles will be the same as it was predetermined from the beginning.
