In not sure if the gas readings display properly on some IHD, mine never showed the M3 value or whatever it is but I never paid too much attention to the gas really as my usage is minimal with the bulk of my bills always being electricity usage. I’m sure there will be info or possibly a solution in the bulb community forums. I mentioned before I have a chameleon IHD3-CAD giving me close to real-time usage and connects to my WiFi but it’s from BOOST ENERGY and I think it’s an earlier model with SMETS1 Secure Liberty 100 meter, I use Samsung Galaxy S9+ but can’t connect it to SmartThings app or hub, apparently it’s not compatible but I just don’t seem to be able to understand why it can’t somehow get the data from my IHD3-CAD via WiFi or some workaround. It’s easy to say it’s not compatable or it won’t work but if it’s the case I just want to know why, do they even know why? Is it possible for it to work bt too much effort to try to sort it? Or is it just the unicorns at Bulb HQ being stubborn or chewing the cables? Maybe I’ll never know…
One of the problems with this is the buck passing betweeen Bulb and Smartthings. I’ve now had some correspondence with Smartthings support, who appear to be taking my complaint seriously, but haven’t had a solution yet. I read somewhere that Chameleon are reluctant to publish the API for security reasons. I’m not best placed to judge whether there’s a real security issue or it’s code for a commercial issue.
I’m confused by the method of connection ?? Why are 2 specific devices required when they can easily create a secure API for any bulb user to use and connect to ST
Basicaly zero maintenance 100% satisfaction. If the speed of change in useage is seen as an issue, then allow API access to historic data which can be shown in ST but for up to the minute stuff have the option of adding an IHD
Just seems short sighted to me
Here we are in 2021 and the bas&%rd company’s are still making it hard to read our own useage
I Changed to Bulb because I wanted to be able to switch on and off the hot tub based on if I was Exporting power or not from my solar. However the only output you can control with is kWh’s and not kW’s
I have no Idea what anyone would want to control with the accumulated kWh of the meter
If you have missed the recent news:
Gone today, another one bites the dust, not only is the UK energy market in crisis but the whole energy meter rollout is a disaster
Bulb continues to operate as it has too many customers to be absorbed into a company currently able to survive but it is under special administration, basicaly the UK tax payer is now taking the loss
