How to get updates when new code or version changes from github repo?

so Im completely lost when it comes to understanding how github repo’s work. Is there a way to get notifications on when a replacement is added to the same folder on the devs repo? Im concerned that I will eventually be using an outdated version of a device type/app.

Can I add more than one GitHub Repository?

I hope this isn’t a silly question, but let’s say there’s an app that’s developed by another community user and they are using github. In my github account, I can fork their repository and see the code, etc. But with the new GitHub integration with the IDE, I’d like to be able to pull that into my SmartApps and therefore easily get the updates that the community user makes. I can’t seem to figure that out - it seems I can only access the Smartthings public repository from within the IDE… am I missing something simple?

GitHub: How to squash multiple commits?

So I’m a complete and utter newbie with GitHub. I’ve signed up, used the instructions to link by account, forked the ST master, but man, I really don’t understand fully what I’m doing there yet. I know with enough work at it I might eventually be able to get slightly more proficient, but I don’t know that I’ll ever invest the time as I’m really just a light hobby coder at best. I’ve only ever used it website, I’ve never used the Windows Client or the Command Line. Over the last few days I’ve made some minor changes to one of my apps that I’m trying to get out there and it appears to have resulted in multiple minor commits. I got an email from someone asking me to squash the commits together to make it cleaner, which makes sense. But I have no idea how to do that. I found some instru…

And to answer a simple question, Bruce will need to rename his repo or create a separate one for his apps.

My recommendation is for Bruce to create a repo for each app, and push the apps there using his github integration.
