Resetting Z-Wave

Hi @JDRoberts, thanks for the fast response.
So i have a fibaro roller shutter 3 which i paired once with edge driver, though i removed it a while ago (before the factory reset)…

Anyway now everything seems to play fine, even though some of the routes still contain unknown devices…

A bit worried to run ZWave repair (since things are playing ATM…) though i have a feeling it wont last long…

I’d expect factory reset remove all :man_shrugging:

Devices with Edge Drivers will show as Unknown Device in routing info for Devices using Device handlers

go ahead and run z-wave repair if you want

Should I risk it? lol

Just to mention - currently i have no devices using edge drivers… so its weird :confounded:

If you have no devices in IDE with Placeholder for any of your z-wave devices probably a good idea to run z-wave repair. Possible you have a ghost device.

I have some devices with placeholder in ide, though these are wifi devices (sensibo and stuff), not zwave devices…

As i stated before, last repair broke everything and i could only fix it by reset to factory settings and pair all devices all over again… this is why im so concerned with that repair…

Anyway, i’ll wait to see if something breaks again and try repair…

@JDRoberts BTW - why didnt the factory reset remove the routing table? Or did it? If thats the case how come ghost devices appeared again (similar ids…)

I’m worried that routing table wasn’t truncated after factory reset or maybe i did something wrong during the process…

I’m sorry, I’m confused. Factory resetting the hub should clear the network table in the hub, yes.

The IDs for the zwave devices are assigned as each is added to the Network. They do get reused eventually if you go through the whole 232.

If you add them in the same order as the first time, then they will get the same IDs.

“Similar“ IDs rather than “identical“ IDs wouldn’t really mean anything.
